LUCKNOW: With an aim to make Uttar Pradesh an information technology hub, 'e-Uttar Pradesh' organised by the Department of IT and Electronics started here today.
 
Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Maharashtra were partner States of the two-day event, which was inaugurated by chief minister Akhilesh Yadav.
 
Speaking on the occasion Yadav said that the main objective behind the event was to highlight the fact that UP was emerging destination for world's large and small Information Technology Companies.
 
The state government is focusing on development of necessary infrastructure and human capital, proactive engagement with investors and effective implementation so as to create an environment in which the IT industry can grow and flourish, he said.
 
The two-day event will be showcasing the landmark initiatives taken by the state to bring it on global map of IT Industries.
 
Chief secretary, Javed Usmai said that several fiscal and non-fiscal incentives have been announced in the Information Technology Policy-2012 and hoped that the event will serve as a vehicle for promoting the IT industry in the state.
 
The two-day forum has bought together key-representatives across the sectors of IT, infrastructure and government.
 
At various sessions of the prgramme, speakers said that it would serve as a unique platform focusing on the development of IT cities in Lucknow and Agra and IT Parks across the major cities of the state.
 
Besides, government organisations delegates from pioneers companies of IT Sector, Realty Sector, Consultancy and Banking Sectors are participating in the event.
 
Prominent among those participating included HP, Intel, Microsoft, AMD, CISCO, Tata Reality Infrastructure, Metro Cell, Ernst and Young, KPMG, ILFS Education, Global Healthcare Systems, Deolite Touch Tomatsu, Ricoh, Array Networks, Samin Teleminds, IDBI Bank besides others.
