These falls divides Cauvery River into two different falls - the Gaganachukki falls and Bharachukki Falls which is simply mesmerizing. The sight of these two falls is enchanting and the best time to visit them is during the monsoon. The falls are considered one among the 100 best waterfalls in the world. The white water that cut across deep green hills creates a beautiful spot gifted to us by nature.

By Road

 

There are few alternative routes, we went via Kanakapura (Bangalore - Kanakpura - Malavalli - Shivsamudra) and to start with, we drove on newly constructed NICE Ring Road (Highway). You could also hire a cab or enjoy a worthy long drive away from daily city traffic.

 

It is worth travelling 150 km and 3 hr drive from Bangalore as a weekend getaway.

This was my first live experience of viewing a Water Fall, quite captivating. I was truly excited. Well never had courage to get in the water but went for boating.

Thefirst Hydro-electric Power station in Asia, was set up here in early 20th century. One of the oldest Power generating station of India.

 

Where to stay

 

Shivasamudram falls is a picnin spot near Bangalore, so there is no staying option availaible. It's three hour drive so anyone visiting outside Bangalore should stay in Bangalore.

 

Food

 

You are kindly requested to pack your lunch/ snacks for the trip, there are NO Restaurants. Come 'On do some preparations from home too.

 

Closure Line

 

Sitting on one of these benches provided at the top, you can feel the incredible beauty of the waterfall & the mountains. Well the experience can't be fully expressed, it can just be felt and enjoyed.
