AAP to gain, Kejriwal most preferred CM candidate: Opinion pollArvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is likely to gain against both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls, an opinion poll conducted by ABP News and Nielsen has said.

The opinion poll said that the AAP was likely to bag as many as 18 seats during the elections.

The BJP, on the other hand, is likely to emerge as the single largest party, surpassing the Congress in the Assembly polls with around 28 seats and a vote share of around 34 per cent.

The poll predicted that the Congress was likely to win 22 seats in the 70-member Assembly.

The AAP was likely to gain a vote share of about 15 per cent from the Congress and the BJP, the survey said, with other parties and independent candidates likely to win only two seats in the Delhi polls.

The opinion poll said around 32 per cent of people surveyed wanted Arvind Kejriwal as Delhi’s next chief minister, ahead of Vijay Goel and Sheila Dikshit.

The scores had improved for Arvind Kejriwal as a leading candidate for the chief minister’s post from 24 per cent in August to 32 per cent in October.

Shiela Dikshit’s ratings as a CM had gone up from 22 per cent in August to 27 per cent in October. BJP’s Delhi chief Goel too was wanted by 27 per cent respondents as their next CM.

Hemen parekh Selling Dreams ?\n\nYesterday , on ABP TV , Arvind Kejriwal ( Aam Aadmi Party ) promised to Delhiwallas , unbelievable improvements in ,\n\n> Healthcare\n\n> Education\n\n> Electricity Supply & Prices\n\n> Safe drinking water , etc\n\nApart from a Jan LokPal\n\nProvided , Delhiwallas vote AAP to an absolute majority ( he expects 48 seats ) , on 4th Dec\n\nAt the moment , it appears that he has succeeded in selling a dream !\n\nThat is one kind of ability that most politicians do possess\n\nBut most of them woefully lack the second kind of ability , viz:\n\n> Management of expectations raised , thru delivering on promises made\n\nIt does not take a genius , much hard work or a lot of money , if your promise is :\n\n> 35 Kg of free rice per month to each poor family\n\nI hope 71 constituency-wise manifestos that AAP promises to publish by this week-end , do not contain such \" Insults \" to people suffering for so long !\n\nDelivering on promises made by AAP , will require :\n\n> A time bound ACTION PLAN ( Roadmap ) with quantitative Achievement \n Targets ( Milestones )\n\n> A \" Resource Mobilization Plan \" which clearly spells out ,\n\n * How much money will be required for each initiative ( budgetary \n allocations )\n\n * How ( from where ) this money will be raised ?\n\n Raising taxes is bad ! Borrowing is worse ! Begging Central Govt is \n worst ! Can you save from \" leakages \" ?\n\n> Transparent procedures , open to public scrutiny\n\n> A honest / corruption-free / committed bureaucracy to implement\n\n> Non - interference by elected MLAs\n\n> How will public be involved ?\n\n> Which third party will measure the \" Actual vs Targetted \" performance\n and publish the audited results, and how often ?\n\nSurely ,drawing up and monitoring such a Project Plan , cannot be a Rocket Science for IIT / IIM whizkid volunteers of AAP , when their classmates at ISRO are launching Mars Orbiter Mission ( MOM ) today ! \n\nIf AAP manages to display this second kind of post-election \" Performance Ability \" , then it will truly herald an \" Indian Spring \" and re-write the rules of how elections will get fought in State / National elections\n\nGood Luck , Arvind !\n\n\n\n\n* hemen parekh ( 05 Nov 2013 )
