The sports supplement is becoming a huge hit and more expensive following a report which said that there was a chemical present in it which was similar to methamphetamine.
Researchers said that test results on the popular sports supplement called Craze, raises important health and regulatory concerns.
It is a pre-workout powder manufactured by New York-based `Driven Sports' and they are claiming that the ingredients are completely natural.
Craze is also available online through Amazon for $239.99 per can.
After the initiation of the investigation, Walmart. com and several other online retailers have removed the product from their shelves.
The website of Driven Sports', however, says that the sports supplement is out of stock now.
Pieter Cohen, an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School and a co-author of the analysis of Craze said, "These are basically brand-new drugs that are being designed in clandestine laboratories where there's absolutely no guarantee of quality control."
There have been consistent statements given by the manufacturers of Craze which do not contain any amphetamine-like compounds which include uploading test results on its website.
