kangna RanuatKangana Ranaut went to great lengths to prepare for her role as a 'mujrewali' in the upcoming 'Rajjo'. The film, directed by Vishwas Patil, is a love story between her, a Muslim, and a teenage Brahmin boy, essayed by Paras Arora.

Kangana says, "I did a lot of research... visited kothas at Nagpada near Mumbai Central and interacted with the women working there, to understand their body language and mindset. I rehearsed for 14 to 16 hours every day. Vishwas was confident that I would carry off the character well and I guess I managed to pass the test." In fact, a source adds, "Kangana even took to chewing gutka and paan to lend authenticity to her character."

Contrary to perception, the film does not have any offensive content. The makers say that it is a wholesome entertainer that tells the tale of a sex worker who wants to live like a regular girl. "The film's USP is Kangana's complete image transformation, which focuses on her dancing skills," adds Vishwas. Starring Prakash Raj, Mahesh Manjrekar and Jaya Prada, it has music by Uttam Singh and cinematography by Binod Pradhan.

Rajjo, produced by Four Pillar Films, releases November 15.
