Life_StyleSmoothies are a great snack to tide you over a lag time between meals. Fresh smoothies made with skimmed milk and/or low fat yogurt, natural fruits and sweeteners are immensely healthy as well.

Nutritionist, Priya Kathpal with BCube shares her recipe for a low fat smoothie blended with your favourite seasonal fruits. This is a recipe for energy, healthy skin and a recipe to lower cholesterol. It is a great breakfast smoothie, but you can have it whenever you are tired and your battery is low. So here it is: A nutritionist's take on the fruit and cereal smoothie...
¼ cup low fat milk
½ a banana
½ an apple
2-3 strawberries
1 tsp honey
3-4 soaked almonds
1 chopped walnut
3-4 raisins
1 tbsp sugar free muesli or wheatflakes
Blend all the ingredients except raisins and walnuts
Pour into a glass, garnish with walnut and raisins. Enjoy!
Tip: Fruits can be chosen based on season; amount of milk can be varied based on the consistency required.
