St. Joseph s Convent High School was established in the year 1962. It all began in the year 1960, when on June 3, Reverand Mother Anne, Provincial of Bangalore, arrived in Bombay and brought with her a band of five sisters : Sr. Mechtilde, Sr. Benedicta, Sr. Christine, Sr. Seraphine and Sr.Anthony. In Bombay, the sisters lived at St. Xavier s School and St. Theresa s School. They also taught at these schools under Father Paul Cordeiro who was the Principal of St. Xavier s School then. On the day of the feast of St. Joseph, on March 19, 1962, the sisters received the good news that a site was available at 62, S.V. Road. On June 13, 1962, the community of the sisters of St. Joseph began their ministry in the new venue the present St. Joseph s Convent, Vile Parle (West). The St. Joseph s Convent is associated to the Convent at Tarbes, France. This school provides first class education for girls.
