the Jewish Girls School is one of the oldest schools operating in the city of Calcutta. Originally established with the objective of educating members of the Jewish community domiciled in Calcutta, the school is run by the members of the remnant Jewish community of the city. With time, the school has broadened its social base by opening its doors to students form non-Jewish background as well. At present, the school proudly bears testimony to the cosmopolitan character of the city of Calcutta, educating pupils from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
