About Holy Family Convent School
The congregation of the Holy Family was founded by Blessed Mother Mariam Thresia Chiramel Mankidiyan, in a remote village in Thrissur (District) Kerala, in the year 1914. Rev Fr. Joseph Vithayathil is the Co-Founder of the Congregation. Blessed Mariam Thresia started probing deep into the mystery of the Holy Trinity as a child of three. The agony on the Cross was real to her. Even in her teens, she was seen at the bedside of every ailing destitute, death-bed of every sinner, by the side of every broken family and at the back of every addict. Convinced of the Holiness of Mariam Thresia and the relevance of her Mission, Rt. Rev. Dr. John Menachery finally decided to raise canonically the small community of Mariam Thresia into the status of a religious Congregation on 14th May 1914. Thus arose the Congregation of the Holy Family in the heart fo the Church, dedicated mainly to families and the destitute. The basic aim is to restore the lost communication with oneself, others and the Creator, in individuals, families, society and in the world at large. The thrust of every Apostolate performed anywhere at any time is towards family and those in need. The Congregation runs Hospitals, Schools, Colleges, Press, Homes for the Aged and the Dying and centers for the physically handicapped and mentally retarded.
