News | by CIOL Bureau

NEW DELHI, INDIA: After the announcement of the Q3 results by Indian IT majors Infosys and TCS, one thing is clear that the rivals are all set to face stiff competition from each other.

While TCS maintained its profit levels with some big projects, Infosys is back on track after some unimpressive quarterly results in the recent past.

The two IT majors of the country are back to compete with each other. Infosys has now taken over the MCA-21 project (an e-governance project from Ministry of Corporate Affairs) from TCS. "The operator for MCA-21 project is changing with effect from Friday from TCS to Infosys," reads a public announcement made by the Corporate Affairs Ministry.

Infosys said, it will revamp the existing application after the transition from TCS.

The second phase of the project (from January 2013 to July 2021) is designed to automate all processes related to enforcement and compliance of the legal requirements under the Companies Act and it would gradually replace desktops, printers and scanners.

The total project outlay of the second phase is worth Rs. 357.81 crore. Rs. 54.42 crore has been allocated for independent project management and certification and Rs. 29.84 crore for continuous improvement and upgradation to the electronic service delivery of the Corporate Affairs Ministry.
