Google today announced it is rolling out a redesign for Gmail that would enable users to get more control over their inbox. The redesign, which will be rolled out to desktop, Android and iOS versions of Gmail will automatically segregate emails according to their category – primary, social, marketing and updates. The redesign is an evolution from Priority inbox that Google had introduced earlier but makes the experience more visual and intuitive. On the desktop version, tabs will appear on the top with the categories and users can shift from one to another. They can also drag and drop emails to a category and mails from the sender will be automatically sent to that particular category. On the Android and iOS Gmail apps, it will automatically open in the primary category and users can swipe to see other categories. Users will have the option to tweak which categories they want to see or even turn off the feature and get the classic view.
