image Ashish Arora, Founder and MD, HR Anexi advises you on questions to ask at your next job interview!

A good job interview is a two way communication. The employer asks questions to determine if a candidate is an ideal fit for the job, and an intelligent candidate uses the interview to evaluate how he would fit with the role, whether he will be able to bring his full potential to the table and how well his goals and values align with those of the company. For a serious candidate, a job interview is not only a platform to showcase his talent and accomplishments, but also the most tangible opportunity to evaluate whether the role matches his skills and expectations.

image Hyderabad/Mumbai, July 3:  It is a peculiar paradox. There is on the one hand a mad rush for bank employment and, on the other, a good number of selected candidates are rejecting job offers.

Information obtained from various banks shows that 15-20 per cent of the selected candidates do not join. This is surprising as, just in the case of the State Bank of India, over 10 lakh had applied for 1,500 probationary officer postsearlier this year. Latest data reveal that over 53,000 officers and clerks were recruited by banks in the current financial year (the process started last year), and almost every bank had a set of non-joiners. For instance, of the 730 probationary office

The occupation of being a bodyguard is a position of trust and confidence – you have to protect your client against any threats on his life. Apart from this you must also protect his persona and his confidential information. Most bodyguards are law enforcers, or those people who have had military training. However, military training is not really a necessity when it comes to this job. The most important trait one must possess is the willingness to lay your life for the welfare of your client.

An able bodyguard must be able to protect his client from assassination threats. Confidential information must also be kept secure at all times. The ability to do these would defini

image NEW DELHI/MUMBAI: The IT services sector is perhaps the worst hit by global economic turbulence over the past few years. But when one company from this industry hires more MBAs from 21 top B-schools than any other company across all sectors, you know it is doing something right.

Cognizant, number one in India's Top Recruiters list this year, also featured in the top ten in the previous two years.

It hires one MBA for every 20-25 tech professionals and this, the company believes, is the best way to beat the industry-wide slowdown. "Our industry-leading growth is, in part, a function of our ability to proactively provide solutions to business problems and

Infosys has seen a 39.1% drop in job applications in FY13 compared with the previous year. But healthy salary raise of 8%, a 3-year 'daunting' roadmap chalked out by executive chairman Narayana Murthy may lead to a spike in the company's image as a preferred employer.   "Infosys may not demand so many employees but it will see at least a 20% increase in inbound resumes, specially at lower levels and the middle management," said Surabhi Mathur Gandhi, senior vice-president of TeamLease.

There are interview questions that convey so loudly "The person who is interviewing you today has neither intellectual curiosity nor spark" that a switched-on job seeker, having heard the question, may not even want the job anymore.
