image   Melbourne, Feb 28 - Australian opener David Warner has reportedly been fined 15 per cent of his match fee- an amount of 2900 dollars, for accusing South African batsman AB de Villiers of ball tampering during the second Test at Port Elizabeth .

The ICC charged Warner under its code of conduct with 'public criticism of, or inappropriate comment in relation to an incident occurring in an international match or any player, player support personnel, match official or team participating in any international match'.

With a five stroke advantage over Delhi golfer Vani Kapoor, overnight leader Sharmila continued her good run of form on the final day to clinch her first title of the season.

image London, Feb 17 - Everton FC cruised into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with a three-one win over Swansea FC on Sunday.

Everton had Scotland forward Steven Naismith to thank for firing his side into the next round after a crunching tackle from Jordi Amat left him concussed, reports the Daily Star.

Everton were in a sticky situation against under-strength Swansea, when super-sub Naismith came off the bench to inject some life into what was till then a timid tie.

image Johannesburg, Feb 11  : Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin has admitted that South Africa are the favourites for their three-Test series starting in Centurion on Wednesday.

South Africa has maintained their number one ranking since midway through 2012, which was no fluke according to the Test vice-captain.

image   Beijing, Feb 2  : Brazilian football star Ronaldinho has reportedly signed a one-year contract extension with his club Atletico Mineiro.

A World Cup winner with Brazil in 2002, Ronaldinho, who will not play for Atletico Mineiro this weekend because of a suspension for a red card at the Club World Cup, led his club to the Copa Libertadores title last year.

According to the China Daily, negotiations had been underway since Atletico played in FIFA's Club World Cup in December, although the two-time FIFA player of the year said at the time that he was not sure whether he would remain with the club in 2014.

"Aaron Ramsey is out for longer than we expected because he had a little setback in training yesterday (Monday). So I couldn`t bring him here," Wenger was quoted as saying on the club`s website (www.arsenal.com).

image London, Jan 8 - Indian-origin English footballer Michael Chopra has reportedly been slammed with a 10,000-pound fine by his Football League Championship side Blackpool and warned about his future conduct following some comments that he made on the social media.

Chopra had used expletives in a post on Twitter after only six players turned up for training.
